Kevin Barnes' Eco-Magic Set.
Kevin Barnes is a magician based out of Las Vegas who travels around the country presenting his Green Earth Magic Show. I met him a few years back at the San Antonio Water System (S.A.W.S.) sponsored event: Camp H2O, where I was schedule to do my Doc Ed show. He was very friendly and we talked shop and exchanged stories until it was time for his show. It was a mix of stage illusions and prestidigitation. It was very entertaining and, of course, educational.
Afterwards, he gave me a "Kevin Barnes Eco Magic Set" for my kids. I thought it was a wonderful idea to have magic kits along with the show. I think they are meant for smaller scale presentations where the children would receive the magic kit as a gift so he didn't hand them out at that particular event. I don't know why I didn't post about it before but better late than never.

As a performer I've always thought it a good idea to have things like a magic kit or some special item that is specifically associated with your character or show. I think it makes it more fun for the kids. Rik Gern a.k.a. Bonzo Crunch of Austin, Texas gives out t-shirts with a 1930's styled cartoon drawing of himself juggling his pizzas. As Doc Ed I've got a variety of goodies to offer. I have to say Kevin's is the coolest one I've seen so far.
