Flamenco Rehearsal

These are photos taken a couple of days ago. Master of Flamenco ,Teo Morca, oversees the rehearsal at the Connally Dance Workshop studios. He is seventy five years of age but doesn't look a day over fifty.

Teo Morca demonstrating a move in the number he'll be performing for the show tonight. A interesting tidbit about Teo Morca is that he was a student alongside Bob Fosse. Oh, the stories he could tell.

Tamara Saj rehearsing one of her numbers for the show. Tamara also happens to be the producer for the show as well. Pretty darn impressive if you ask me. Go ahead, ask me.

Faux Comic Book

Virgen de Guadalupe #3. Front and back cover. Acrylic on illustration board.

Here's another of my "comic book" paintings that's part of a private collection belonging to Joe Diaz. I've got a couple more ideas to try with this series which I hope to get to next month. Right now Pam and I are in the middle of Hell week. I've got major illustration deadlines and she's got rehearsals for the Flamenco show which opens this weekend. Caracoles!!

Illustrations on Parade

"Pod Sweet Pod". Color Pencil on Paper.

"Electric Dancer". Pastel on Paper.

"Robocop". Watercolor on Paper.

Just thought I'd a few more illustrations with you. The top one is a piece I did for an unpublished childrens book. Darn! The second one is a quick sketch I made at a dance class and sold afterward along with a few more drawings and used the money shortly thereafter for bills and other un-fun stuff. Bummer. The last one is a portfolio piece that I did to see how far I could go with the watercolors. Not too shabby if I say so myself, so there. This week is about to get crazy with Pammy in the middle of rehearsals for the flamenco show and starting tomorrow I'll be starting an illustration job chock full of drawings and short on time. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi!

Faerie Fun

"Faerie Light". Ink on paper.

I really enjoy the art and stories of the fantasy genre so every now and again I indulge myself with a drawing or painting in order to immerse myself in that world. Speaking of indulging, I'll be off at Six Flags indulging the child in me for Fathers Day. Keep it real!!
