Friday Roundup

It was a week full of variety here at Rancho Ramirez. This week, Pammy, who is production director for the new Flamenco show, " Arte y Pasion: De la Oscuridad a la Luz", from the creative mind of Tamara Say, met with her earlier this week to look over the space and talk about the logistics of putting on this ambitious production within the space of the Little Carver Theater located behind the main theater building. Yesterday Pammy spent some time taking notes at a rehearsal and spoke with the chef who will be preparing the menu alongside Tamara's husband Ron. I got a peek at the menu and it looks yummy.

Doc Ed had a mellow week to wrap up the month with only one show which was today at the Carroll Early Childhood Education Center on the southeast side of town. Tomorrow I'll be lending Brent Doty a hand at the Witte Museum for a two hour workshop on the Edwards Aquifer for a group of boyscouts. While I'm there I'll probably be taking a look at the Amazon exhibit in their main space. I'm still working on my ventriloquists skills in preparation for the vent work I'll be doing as part of the kindergarten Doc ed show. That, of course, is and will be a work-in-progress for as long as I do it. It's a skill not easily or quickly perfected.

Activity books and website art for various companies, banks and organizations designed by Raining Popcorn Media. With the exception of the "Jose Wants a New Bike" activity book and the Reliant Energy home page, I did the art for the rest of images shown.

Some of the books published by Raining Popcorn Media including the Milagro de Monterrey which I illustrated. The dvd of the film that the book book is based on, The Perfect Game, is still scheduled for an August release.

The last two days found me at the offices of Raining Popcorn Media with it's co-owner Art Avila, doing some voice over work for the Houston Metro website. We also discussed the audio work to be done for the digital version of the Milagro de Monterrey book that I'll be narrating. Art also had me do some rough sketches yesterday for an activity book for Reliant Energy that will be used on their website. All in all, it was a pretty full week.
