Had a good night of t.v. with the family. As always. Star Trek has Klingons in the mix as they and the crew of the Enterprise battled for control of a malevolent entity that feeds on hatred. It's one of my favorite third season episodes because I get to watch sword fighting in the 23rd century. Abbott and Costello meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was the feature film for the evening. You can't go wrong with Boris Karloff and Bud Abbott and Lou Costello in any movie. Lots of fun! I can't wait for next weekend.

Friday Roundup-Our Thanksgiving
Once again the holiday season is moving past us with the speed of light but we're trying to savor these special times as often as we can. We remind ourselves to stop to take a nice long breathe between the hectic pace that has latched itself to the holiday season.
The kids have been off almost a week now for the Thanksgiving break so most of our time, when not working, has been devoted to them. Most of that time has been spent at home but we've also been to the bookstore and today we went to the movies. A real treat! And speaking of treats, we also had our favorite: Shipley's Doughnuts.
We also had a great Thanksgiving with Pammy's parents. There was plenty of food for all and then some. But we never seem to have enough stuffing, so this year so I bought a bigger turkey (22 lbs.) and it solved that problem easily. We had all the sides like sweet potatoes topped with marshmellows, mashed potatoes, green beans, broccoli salad. No one left the table hungry. And we're so grateful for it.
It wasn't that long ago, having just moved back to our hometown, that work was scarce and bills were plentiful. The bills haven't gone away but much of our worry has been minimized to a miniscule spec. And we are grateful for that.
But we're even more grateful for our family and the time we spent with them sharing in our good fortune as they so often have done for us. It's about family. Where would we be without them? I dare not imagine.
The harshest of times would be more so if we didn't have our families. Like food and water and shelter they sustain us, give strength and protect us as much as they can from life's in-climate weather.
So I am grateful for all that we have and most grateful for the presence of our families in our lives. Happy Thanksgiving.
