I was out enjoying a friends art opening so I missed Batman and Lost in Space but I did get home in time to draw from Star Trek and of course, Svengoolie. "The Cloud Minders", another third season favorite of mine was the Star Trek episode shown that evening. Of special note,appearing as High Advisor Plasus was actor, director and famed acting teacher Jeff Corey, who was blacklisted in the 1950's.
Svengoolie was rerunning "Son of Dracula" released in 1943 and starred Lon Chaney Jr. as Count Alucard, a.k.a. Dracula, who had come to America looking for a fresh start. Not the best Dracula film by any means by Universal during it's horror movie, golden age but it did have the cool effect of showing Dracula transform from a bat into a man. According to Wikipedia this was the first time this impressive effect was used.
