Super- Dee- Duper Experience!
Above is a segment from a Barney video, "What a World We Share". I appeared in it as Maurice the Magician. It was a fun set to work on and the cast was very friendly and talented. The actor portraying Barney, whose name escapes me, was very easy going and friendly just like his alter ego. Fun times and good memories. This was shot at the studios of Las Colinas in the DFW area back in 1998 if I'm recalling correctly. I appear at 4:10 into the segment concluding my part at 10:40.

SNOW DAY!!
It only happens in this part of Texas every few years and it only takes it a little snow to shut things down. Today was the day! With just a little paper thin layer of snow and some ice San Antonio had a "snow day". We all stayed home. There was no work. Schools were closed. It was beautiful man! I've been in my p.j.s all day. Life is good.
On with the Friday roundup. This week I had a couple of meetings with the good folks at the Aquifer Authority. My only Doc Ed for the week was canceled because of the weather. So too was the meeting for the Society of American Magicians I'd hoped to attend. Oh, well. Better luck next time. But with a different strategy for promoting Doc Ed February is looking to be a very busy month. As I said, life is good.

Mime Time with Marcel Marceau
The one and only Marcel Marceau as introduced by the one and only Red Skelton.
Chillin' in Texas
Tomorrow, weather permitting of course, Doc Ed will be at Valley High Elementary for three presentations for students from kindergarten through fifth grade.
It's been colder here than it's been for at least ten years. Yesterday we took a walk in the park only to be greeted by strong, frigid winds that cut our walk short. We made a hasty retreat to the nearest Mexican restaurant. I know the weather here is tame by comparison elsewhere but this is some crazy, serious cold weather for our neck of the woods. On the bright side we might see some snow here tonight and tomorrow. That's even more of a rarity than the extreme cold. If that happens you'll be seeing some snowmen and snow angels at Rancho Ramirez. If it doesn't snow at least we got to wear our turtle necks this year.

Timber- A Hairy Situation
Here's a neat bit of animation, (I think it's called pixelation but don't quote me on that.) with a conservation message that would definitely please Doc Edwards. The short film is titled "Timber". I found it on one of my favorite websites: Cartoon Brew. Below is a link to the site. Enjoy.

Sunday at Our House
More skies. I like skies. Can you tell?
Skies are humbling to me.
Today is party day at Rancho Ramirez! We spent the better part of the morning at a place called Pump It Up which is this playground/party place with all manner of inflatable slides, obstacle courses and moon bounces designed to wear out even the hardiest of kids. We spent the better part of the morning there and now we're just at home winding down for the day. This afternoon is about getting all things ready for the coming week.
Sometime this afternoon I'll be drawing a bit then I'll settle in, along with the rest of the family, to our evening of America's Funniest videos, then we read and soon thereafter fall asleep. Zowee! We live la vida loca!!
