Now that the holidays have ended I've picked up my brush and palette where I left off on the "Bilbo meets Gollum" illustration. This weekend I've worked on Bilbo's hand, feet and head as well as his trusty sword "Sting". I did a tiny bit of work on Gollum mostly deepening the shadows on his torso to heighten the glow of Sting. So far so good but I've still got more work ahead. I should be done in the next couple of days.Since we're on the subject, early last week on January the 3rd was J.R.R. Tolkien's birthday. In my yuletide posting frenzy I forgot to mention it.
