Saturday Night Doodles

 Another Saturday night draws to a close and this time I'm posting right away. Batman started off the fun with an episode involving Alfred in the Penguin's plot to heist the Multimillionaires Annual Award Dinner.

Lost in Space had a variety of aliens in "Space Beauty" as intergalactic showman Farnum B. stirs up trouble putting on a beauty pageant. Star Trek is back to the first season with "Man Trap" one of my favorite episodes with a very cool monster.

 Svengoolie showed "The Invisible Man Returns", the 1940 sequel to 1933's "The Invisible Man", starring the one and only Vincent Price in the title role. Appearing in the film as Willie Spears is Alan Napier known to most as Alfred the butler from the 1960's Batman t.v. show. It had pretty good effects and plenty of action. Can't wait until next week. Bedtime for me now! 

 


 

Saturday Night Doodles

Well, another week has gone by and I'm finally posting last weekend's doodles. It was fun drawing my favorite shows but Svengoolie was my favorite that evening because his feature was Deadly Mantis. Give me a giant monster on the rampage and I'm happy! William Shatner turned in a tour de force performance when Captain Kirk's soul switches places with the murderous Janice Lester in "Turn About Intruder",  third season episode number 79 and the series finale. Lost in Space had ape creature convicts and Robin punched his hand repeatedly as he and Batman matched wits with the Riddler. Tons of fun for everyone!

Sold a Painting

This painting finally got a good home when I sold it to a private collector over the weekend. He's purchased several other of my pieces which were part of a traveling exhibit of his collection. Things have been going really well since Pammy and I started opened our Arriba Arte Studios back in January. Our next art show is in mid-April but a marionette variety show at the San Antonio Museum of Art will precede it. Busy, busy! More updates to follow.

A Successful Weekend!

Arriba Arte Studios had a table at this past weekend's National Association of Chicana and Chicano Studies Conference here in San Antonio. It's the first time we'd had a vendor space and weren't sure how it would go but we managed to sell plenty of Milagro de Monterrey books and a couple of pieces of art. We also met some really nice people there. Not bad for one day.
