Friday Roundup

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8038/7998253467_2f9d657f05_b.jpg

The weekend is upon us once again. It's been a busy one here at Rancho Ramirez . We been working on props forthe San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet production of The Snow Queen and we're not done yet. After we fix up the sleigh we're going to repaint a house flat next week. Busy, busy busy!

There has been plenty of Doc Ed action too. I did a total of eleven Doc Ed shows this week starting at the Texas Research Park, Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Selma and at Carnahan Elementary School. The shows were for 4th and 5th grade students many of whom were well versed in geology and the Edwards Aquifer. They were a pretty impressive bunch.More Doc Ed shows are scheduled for next week.

And let's not forget that Art Slam at the White Rabbit. I've been working on some Halloween-ish type illustrations and a figure too. ArtSlam always means I'll miss out on my Saturday night t.v. with the family which is too bad because I enjoy our family time so much. But there is always next weekend. Of special note for the event is that NotBot Fx will be there making up everybody who like as a zombie. NotBot Fx is of course the special make up effects company of the very talented Lawrence Mercado. Stop by and get "zombied" by Lawrence.

So I know that the infamous "47% Romney video" has been covered very well but here's something that wasn't covered nearly enough from that same video. This is why I love the Daily Show so much. Technically it might not be a real news show but it certainly is quite illuminating.

Snow Queen Love

Before...

After!

The "LOVE" letters prop is finally finished so now it's on to the next prop to be refurbished: the sled. It will require a lot of cleaning before it can be repainted and finally add all the accents to it. It's a tight deadline for this weekend but it's do-able and it should be fun work for Pammy and I.
